ENIN Environmental Industry Cluster Project

Title of the application: "Implementation of the joint project of strategic importance of ENIN ENVIRONMENTAL INDUSTRY CLUSTER and development of central service "

The project of the syndicate consisting of ENIN Kft., AVE Miskolc Kft., ENVIRO-PHARM Kft. and FÁBRY Bt. builds on the method which was awarded the „Invention of 2008" prize and applies four Hungarian patents. Utilizing 2000 t/year mixed organic waste it generates 600,000 kg/year methyl alcohol and 133,000 kg/year liquid CO2. The sale of these products on the market is favorable: the former one is the secondary energy source of the future (bio fuel) and also a core raw material for chemical industry while the latter one can be used in many areas in addition to chemical industry. By the method the requirement of the European Union to reduce the dumping of organic waste can be fulfilled: organic waste of almost 2000 t/year can be utilized this way instead of dumping thus the life span of dump sites can even double. The generated waste is of small quantity and is a not hazardous, vitrified material. The long term plan is to set up large waste recycling plants for the regional waste management systems. The project includes a two-year central service development by which the management organization can further increase the acknowledgement of the cluster and the competitiveness of the member organizations both in Hungary and abroad.

The project will be realized with the help of a subsidy of HUF 247 million received from the EMOP-2008/1.2.1.- Clusters of regional significance program (project cost amounts to HUF 578.75 million) based on the NORDA decision passed on 03.24.2009. The ENIN Cluster Project Subsidy Contract - in which the terms and conditions for the utilization of the subsidy were stipulated - was signed in June 2009 and the physical realization of the project started.
